| 1-What was Leila ? - Leila was an Egyptian archaeologist. She was a research mindistant in Cairo university. She joined the UNESCO exchange programme to help Dr Hafez in his excavation of one of the chimu kings’ tomb. 2- What made her realize that she was in Cairo? - the familiar sounds of the neighbourhood ;children playing football, the call of a man selling melon and her sister’s work in the kitchen. 3-what made Leila remember her journey to Peru? The picture of her holding the Llama animal .she remembered the good day when she discovered it and the bad days after so she felt a shiver.
4- What did Leila take with her to Peru two month before? - A laser machine and some papers.

13-How did Martin introduce himself? - he said he was a mining engineer. But he doesn’t look her silver or copper but he was looking for more interesting things. He was American but he was born in south Africa. When did Martin seem to be interested in Leila’s work? ..when he knew she was an archaeologist 14-Why did Leila take up archaeology ? - because when she was young, she used to listen to Dr Hafez talking about his work and he used to show them pictures . 15-Why didn’t she study in Cairo university and studied in the Italian institute of archaeology?
- As people might have thought Dr Hafez was giving her special treatment as he was a family friend.
16-Why did Leila suspect Martin? - as he asked her a lot of questions and looked into her papers when she was asleep.

They also dressed the kings in fine clothes . why? As they believed the king and the queens would need these things in the next world. 25-What were the differences between the Incas and the ancient Egyptians? - the Incas put mummified kings on litters and went through streets.
- They used to kill women and servant and buried them with kings to look after them in the second world.
26-What did Dr. Hafez say about Martin Lander? - He worked for the united mining but he got involved with some people who took Inca things out of the country and sold them to rich collectors so he was dismissed
27-What did Amalia do that angered Leila when they first met? - she offered to carry Dr Hafez ‘s baggage and didn’t offer help to Leila although Leila had much more baggage

- she suffered from jet – lag. 30-What did the Incas do to make sure that the chimu kings were loyal? They let the chimu kings rule but they took their children to Cuzco the, Incas capital, to make sure their fathers were loyal.
31- What did Amalia accuse Leila of? - she said that Leila came to Peru as Dr. Hafez was a family friend.
32-How did Leila defend herself? - she said that she came to Peru because of her experience 33-Why did the Incas sacrifice children?

34-What was Pablo? - he worked for the Peruvian ministry of culture and was in the committee that give reports to the UNESCO about the project. - when she was collecting her tools the bag removed some earth from something shiny. She used the trowel to clear away the earth. She hit the plane and knocked it on its side. Lander’s head was hit he was knocked out.
