The sea is very important to man. If there were no seas, there would be no rain and nothing would grow on the land. Besides, the sea gives us a great deal of food. Fish is one of the most important things we get from the sea.
يجب أن نشجع السياحة لأنها تحسن اقتصاد الدولة.
A) Translate into Arabic:
Tourism is an important industrial activity and it’s perhaps one of the most important bases of the Egyptian economy. It is an industry of a fragile nature that can be influenced too negatively by small accidents, rumours or warning coming from abroad.
A) Translate into English:
تشجع الحكومة رجال الأعمال والشركات الكبرى على استثمار أموالهم فى مصر وذلك بتقديم كل التسهيلات الممكنة لهم.
A. Translate into Arabic :
Dr Zewail is a source of great pride for all Egyptians. He has proved that Egyptian talent can reach its utmost and do wonders. We should take his advice to value our education.
B. Translate into English :
يصمم المهندس المنى الطرق والكبارى بينما يقوم المهندس المعمارى بتصميم المبانى.
A. Translate into Arabic :
Work is desirable as it prevents us from getting bored. We have to work hard to reach our goals. However, we should not work continuously without having a break during which we can take exercise
B. Translate into English :
يجب أن نشجع اقامة نوادى الشباب حتى يتمكنوا من ممارسة أنشطتهم المختلفة ويشغلوا أوقات فراغهم.
A. Translate into Arabic:
When we earn a living, it does not surprise us to discover that success is measured in terms of the money we earn. This outlook is not correct as we cannot buy happiness with money.
B. Translate into English:
لقد حجزت فى الفندق بنظام كارت الائتمان.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Every wise person should make good use of his spare time. If we waste our time, we shall be sorry in future. Time lost cannot be regained.
B. Translate into English:
يصبح اللسان نقمة إذا استخدم فى الغش والخداع.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Money is necessary for living. Everybody agrees that there is never enough of it. However, there are things which can’t be bought with money such as love or happiness.
B) Translate into English:
تعلم كيف تستفيد بوقتك لتنجح فى حياتك.
Translate into Arabic:
A lot of members of scientific societies go on expeditions to explore seas and oceans. Their bottom is full of secrets that have to be revealed. Scientists are ready to run any risks to reach their goal.
Translate into English:
أن المعدات الحديثة تساعد متسلقوا الجبال للقيام بممهمتهم بنجاح.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Egypt has a lot of dreams concerning the next Olympic Games. Great attention is paid to our champions to get the best results. They should take part in international competitions to be well trained.
B. Translate into English:
يعاقب اللاعبون الذين يلجأون إلى المنشطات لتحسين أدائهم.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Lake Nasser is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. Adventure tourists have discovered the thrill of fishing in it. It is well known for its wonderful large fish.
B. Translate into English:
لقد اقتحم اللصوص الشقة وسرقوا معظم محتوياتها.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Goods are packed into massive containers and carried by huge lorries. They are also transported by other means of transport such as trains, ships and planes. Refrigerated ships help us to transport fresh foods to all parts of the world.
B. Translate into English:
من الضرورى أن يتنافس التجار فى مصر من أجل تصدير منتجاتهم إلى الأسواق الأجنبية.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Ibn Sina was a great Arab thinker and doctor. Most of his books were translated into Latin and studied in many European universities. This is because his study of medicine was based upon experiments.
B. Translate into English:
أن الطريقة التى يربى بها الوالدان أطفالهما تؤثر على حياتهم فى المستقبل.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Every year, Egypt celebrates the International Child’s Day. Many achievements for the child’s welfare have been realized. Prizes are offered to talented children, and those who excel in free reading.
B. Translate into English:
إن واحة سيوة هى أكبر الواحات المصرية وبها الكثير من الأبار الطبيعية.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Some farmers have started to use organic materials as our ancestors used to do. Organic farming improves the quality of the soil. Rubbish and waste can be recycled to be used and to keep our environment clean.
B. Translate into English:
كثير من الناس غير متحمسين لاستخدام الهندسة الوراثية لتحسين الإنتاج الزراعى.
A. Translate into Arabic:
You can go around the world in minutes. You don’t go by air but on the internet in your flat. You just log on and the computer links you to the World Wide Web.

We are looking forward to a bright future for our country we have agricultural projects which will provide us with food for our growing population. We will be able to export the surplus to other countries.
B. Translate into English:
يمكنك أن تتصل بمن تريد فى جميع أنحاء العالم بواسطة الإنترنت.
A. Translate into Arabic:
In most cities, some of the oldest and finest buildings are crumbling. The shape and dimensions of the new buildings depend on economic points of view. Owners want to obtain the maximum income per square foot of ground.
B. Translate into English:
لقد نفذت الحكومة مشوعات كثيرة فى مجال إسكان الشباب.
A. Translate into Arabic:
The work of some human organs can be carried out artificially with a machine. A kidney machine can be used when kidneys fail to do their job. Impurities in the blood are filtered off when blood is passed through it.
B. Translate into English:
إن أهم وظيفة للرئتين هى الحصول على الأكسجين للدم.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Tourists come to the Red Sea resorts for many reasons. The beautiful environment and the wonderful natural sceneries are a great attraction. They also enjoy practising water sports .
B. Translate into English:
عليك أن تراجع إجاباتك فى الخمس دقائق الأخيرة من الامتحان.
A. Translate into Arabic :
When you plant a tree , you are helping your environment . Trees absorb carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. They help to solve the problem of global warming .
B. Translate into English:
من أخطر المشاكل ذوبان الثلج فى المناطق القطبية.
A. Translate into Arabic:
The discoveries and inventions of science have brought about great changes in our lives in this century. You have only to think of the development of air transport, television, and electrical power to realize what we owe to scientists.
B. Translate into English:
لقد نجحت وزارة السياحة فى الفترة الأخيرة فى اجتذاب الكثير من السياح إلى سيناء على وجه الخصوص.
A) Translate into Arabic:
Women politicians and women’s organizations are on outcry over the revival of a forgotten law. It aims at encouraging women to spend more time at home. There are protests against it as it is believed to be a setback to women’s gainings.
B) Translate into English:
انتهى زمن المدرس التقليدى وبدأ عصر الإنترنت والتعلم الإلكترونى باستخدام تكنولوجيا المعلومات.
A) Translate into Arabic:
Many people enjoy reading about sports. Most newspapers have a special sports page or sports section. News and stories about recent sport events and figures attract a great portion of readers.
B) Translate into English:
يجب التوسع فى صناعة البتروكيماويات واستخدام الغاز الطبيعى للقضاء على التلوث.
A) Translate into Arabic:
There have been a lot of efforts exerted in order to achieve peace in this volatile region over the past decade. Israel must not be allowed to destroy all of this because of mentality that conceives the law of force. Terrorism will spread and they will live in horror.
B) Translate into English:
إن المرأة المصرية عنصر فعال وشريك اساسى فى التنمية الشاملة.
A) Translate into Arabic:
Most scientists agree that our world is in bad need of clean and renewable forms of energy. They should replace fossil fuels which will soon run out. We should not encourage the use of nuclear energy unless we are sure of our safety.
B) Translate into English:
إن قضية المرأة تتمثل فى إتاحة الفرصة لمن ترغب من النساء فى العمل.
) Translate into Arabic:
Do you know that you have a friend whom you may call upon at any time to help you with your reading and writing? This friend can show you what a word means, how to say it and how to spell it. Your dictionary is that friend we are talking about.
B) Translate into English:
إن السياحة وقناة السويس هما من أهم مصادر الدخل القومى المصرى.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Energy is one of the mainstays of development. It is essential for all productive activities necessary to achieve higher standards of living. It has underpinned major leaps recently made in industry and agriculture.
B. Translate into English:
علينا أن نشجع استخدام المواد العاد أنتاجها مثل الورق و المعادن.
A. Translate into Arabic:
The Egyptian woman is represented in almost all international organizations concerned with woman affairs. Services are also rendered to provide family guidance. To improve the woman’s conditions income-generating job opportunities are created for them.
B. Translate into English:
لقد كتب نجيب محفوظ العديد من الروايات التى ترجمت إلى لغات عديدة ومنحت جوائز مختلفة.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Egypt aims at attracting Arab and foreign capital for investment in the field of industry. We encourage the establishment of new industries as well as expanding the existing ones. Due attention has been given to introduce software and communication industries.
B. Translate into English:
ستتحقق فى المستقبل القريب سياحة الفضاء التى سينجذب إليها الكثير من الناس.
A. Translate into Arabic:
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. We often hear or read about harmful accidents resulting from little knowledge. Many people have been injured because a careless person who thought he knew everything about fire arms was cleaning a gun.
B. Translate into English:
إذا أردت أن تشاهد كسوف الشمس فلا تنظر مباشرة إليها.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Our deserts are one of our chief resources of wealth. If we give them due care, we can increase our national income and solve many of our problems. New cities could grow up when we construct new industrial projects in them.
B. Translate into English:
فى سيارة المستقبل الذكية سيقوم الكمبيوتر بالعديد من الأعمال.
A. Translate into Arabic:
A project has been established with the help of a foreign aid organization in a village in Northern Sinai. Ninety women were members of a co-operative craft-making society. The output of this society is now exported to many countries.
B. Translate into English:
إن تصدير النتجات المصرية إلى الخارج يؤدى إلى زيادة دخل العملات الأجنبية.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Great achievements have been made in Egypt to move population from narrow inhabited areas to new wider expanses. New cities near Cairo have been reconstructed. The twenty sixth July corridor has been completed up to the entrance of the sixth of October city.
B. Translate into English:
إن مترو الأنفاق بالقاهرة إنجاز ضخم يعمل على حل مشكلة المواصلات بها.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Every year Egypt celebrates the International Child’s Day in November. Prizes are given to children who successfully take part in the “Reading for All” competition. Creative children in the different branches of knowledge are honoured.
B. Translate into English:
يهدد التلوث حياة الإنسان والحيوان والنبات فى كل مكان.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Some of the stars that twinkle in the sky to make nights less dark are really worlds much bigger than ours. They look so small because they are far away from us. Even the strongest telescopes cannot bring the details of the nearest one to us.
B. Translate into English:
يحصل النبات على الغذاء ليس فقط من التربة ولكن من عملية التمثيل الضوئى.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Space is one big laboratory for experiments. Often the first satellites carried scientific instruments. These were used to measure things such as magnetism and radiation around the earth.
B. Translate into English:
يجب علينا استخدام التكنولوجيا الحديثة فى جميع مجالات الإنتاج.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Egypt gives due care to children’s health. The government provides vaccinations for them against dangerous diseases. It also provides nutrient components for them as well as care for children with special needs.
B. Translate into English:
تسعى مصر لتحقيق السلام الشامل فى منطقة الشرق الأوسط بالطرق السلمية.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Every wise person should make good use of his spare time. He can practise the hobbies that appeal to him, If we waste our time, we shall be sorry in the future as time lost cannot be regained.
B. Translate into English:
إننى من أشد المعجبين بالموسيقى التقليدية فأقضى أوقات سعيدة أستمع إليها.
A. Translate into Arabic:
A comprehensive peace in the world cannot be achieved if there are countries which reject strongly to minimize their nuclear power. They believe their high position in the world will be destroyed. Efforts should be exerted to compel them to ban mass-destruction weapons.
B. Translate into English:
ناضلت المرأة المصرية أجيالا كثيرة حتى حصلت على جميع حقوقها.
A. Translate into Arabic:
Since its inauguration, the Suez Canal has been one of Egypt’s most outstanding geographical, historical and cultural landmarks. With its central location, it links the east to the west. It is considered a major artery of world trade.
B. Translate into English:
تستخدم الأقمار الصناعية فى الفضاء للإتصالات والتنبؤ بأحوال الطقس
A. Translate into Arabic:
The state gives due attention to youth. This is most evident in the annual meeting and dialogue between President Mubarak and the Egyptian youth. It is regularly held in Alexandria in August every year.
B. Translate into English:
يجب أن يكون التعليم الابتدائى مجانا لكل أطفال العالم وأن يكون إجباريا لجميع الأطفال.
A) Translate into Arabic:
Distance learning makes use of educational experts in the various branches of knowledge all over the world. We can make use of distance learning in all fields of learning including the different branches of science.
B. Translate into English:
يعتقد كثير من الناس أن الكمبيوتر سيحل محل الكتاب وبهذا تنتهى هواية القراءة.
A. Translate into Arabic:
All over the world, many young men give up their leisure for their fellowmen. The kind of work they undertake varies enormously. It depends on the needs and opportunities in each place and their abilities.
B. Translate into English:
يبتهج الناس بالأعياد ويحتفلون بها طبقا لعاداتهم.
A. Translate into Arabic:
We should try to find out our talents before we select our career. We should do the work that appeals to us. Some people prefer to do any work in government services although they can make successful businessmen.
B. Translate into English:
تقدمت لوظيفة صيدلى فى مستشفى القوات المسلحة ولكنى لم أوفق فى المقابلة الشخصية.
A. Translate into Arabic:
A nobleman compares and estimates himself by a person who is higher than himself; and a mean man by one lower than himself. Once you have said, “It is enough” you get lost. Your motto should be “Never stop; keep learning till the last day of your life”.
B. Translate into English:
اطلبوا العلم من المهد إلى اللحد.
Translation
(1) Egypt is trying to protect the environment by all possible means. Many steps have been taken to solve the problem of desertification. Egypt shows great interest in greenery and cultivation. Great efforts are being made to change vast areas of the desert into green land and provide fresh water for man, plant and animal.
(2) Modern inventions have got their own advantages and disadvantages. They are useful to man and made his life easier. Yet, land, air and water are polluted by man-made chemicals. Noise is caused by modern inventions like plans, cars, televisions and radios. The result can often be disease and death.
(3) In the past ten years there has been a revolution in our modern life. This revolution has been brought about by computers. Computers can do four main things: they receive information, they keep it in their memory, they make a calculation and they display the results of that calculation.
(4) The computer has already become very important in the modern world, especially in the fields of medicine, science, education and business. Since computers are very efficient, schools, banks and offices use them for many kinds of work in which speed is essential.
(5) All human beings have basic needs for food, water, shelter, clothing, education and care. This year more than 100 million people have too little to eat and 400 million are about to starve. Many millions die of starvation.
(6) Pupils learn English at school for many reasons. First, English is the language of international sport, transport, business, commerce, science and technology. Second, it is an official language in 44 countries. Third, it is the language of computers.
(7) A doctor’s work is very important. A doctor tries to prevent, diagnose and cure diseases. A doctor helps patients who are in need of treatment. Sometimes, he has to work day and night as he doesn’t like seeing people in pain.
(8) Teaching is a noble and sacred profession. People believe that the progress of any country depends on its dedicated teachers. However. A teacher should be kind and patient. He should be a good example to his or her students.
(9) By environment we mean the air, the sea and the land which surround us. This environment should be kept clean so as to make our life better. Man pollutes the environment and destroys it.
(10) Computers are being used more and more in the world today for the simple reason that they are more efficient than human beings. They have better memories and can store huge amounts of information. In fact, computer can do many of the things we do, but faster and better.
(11) Dirtying our streets and gardens is certainly bad manners. We have to think of those who walk in the streets or enjoy sitting in the gardens.
(12) Crimes committed by young people are increasing all over the world. This is a serious problem which worries people and needs solution. Perhaps there is something wrong with our society.
(13) Nowadays, education is going through great chances. The aim is to improve and develop education to suit the needs of society and to prepare a citizen who is able to serve his country.
(14) Terrorism threatens the people’s security and endangers the future of national economy. Security measures are to be taken against such terrorists. However, the problem of youth should be analysed and practical solutions should be carried out for their welfare.
(15) There is no place in this world for those who don’t work, those who believe that life is an easy simple thing, free from cares and troubles.
(16) Egypt now is in need of our own efforts to help it solve economic problems. This can only be achieved by making the best use of all our natural resources.
(17) A civilized person is the one who behaves normally. He mustn’t hurt the feelings of others. He should give help to those who need it especially the old and weak people.
(18) We must encourage people to invest their money in banks because this helps the state to carry out important projects and benefits يعود بالنفع the investors as well.
(19) Today, scientists are trying to develop other sources of energy to meet our ever-increasing needs. Solar energy could provide one of the answers to our problems. It is a safe source of energy and there is a lot of it.
(20) World civilization owes a great deal to the Arabs. Arabs translated the Greek works and made their own contributions in every field of knowledge. Western scholars were influenced by the contributions made in the field of chemistry, mathematics, astronomy and medicine.
(21) Many Egyptians who work abroad come back to their country to offer their experience and their industrial projects. The government makes all possible facilities to encourage them to invest their money in their country.
(22) Some people prefer the simple and healthy life of the country. They avoid the smoke of factories and the crowded means of transport. They also enjoy the fresh air and the beauty of nature.
(23) The conquest of Egyptian deserts has become a necessity in order to solve the problem of over-population in Egypt. A new delta will be established when the irrigation canal is dug to carry water from Toshki depression to the oases of the New Valley. This certainly will serve the agriculture and industry in Egypt.
